A large amount of this spending is going towards leading-edge (Intel) fabs, which shows Intel is planning to expand its capacity significantly. Capacity is for both for its own chips(Ponte Vecchio, Meteor Lake & Granite Rapids) and others' via Intel Foundry Services.
